Michigan moved, and the room noticed
The poll put it one way. The sport spent the same week saying “natty” about them at 1.8 times their usual rate — and their own room was having its own argument. Both are below. Neither explains the other.
Three measurements of three different groups, joined by
nothing but the same seven days: what the voters did, what the whole sport
was calling the program, and what one of its own fans said in its own room.
This page never claims any of them caused the others.

How this is measured
The left panel is a poll move recorded when the rankings were released,
shown beside the game the program played in the week those voters were
judging. The two are printed together and nothing more is claimed: a poll
is sixty-odd people’s opinion of a whole season, and one game is one
input to it.
The multiple on the right is the sport’s vocabulary about a
program, not its fanbase’s: it counts every mention in the site’s
full football corpus — national Reddit, podcasts, newsletters, video,
beat writing — over the last 7 days, against that same
program’s own trailing rate over the 28 days before. It is a
program compared with itself, never with other programs, and it is pulled
toward flat when the sample is thin.
The quote below it is a different measurement of a different group: one
real post from that program’s own subreddit, in those same 7
days, containing that word. It is chosen by how far the room itself pushed
it up, and it is never edited — only trimmed at a sentence break when
it runs long. Posts that name another program and never this one are
dropped, because a rival passing through is not this fanbase talking.
Usernames are never shown, here or anywhere on this site.
A program can only appear if its own fan room is one this site has
verified and collects — 28 programs today, not all of them. A week
with no qualifying program is reported as such rather than filled.
This week the polls moved 6 programs; 5 of them have a fan room this site reads, and only those can appear here.
