Napier's hire from Louisiana was the Group-of-Five credentials bet that has not yet compounded — three years in (6-7, 5-7, 8-5) the program's trajectory has stabilized in the wrong band. The 2024 season produced the recruiting class that gives 2025 the evidence to grade the tenure. The seat is currently warm; the buyout's structure makes a December 2025 decision the program's most-anticipated one.
