The overall football IQ of those three guys is really high. Combine that with some of the things that [Smith’s] doing, [Bowen’s] doing, man, those guys are walking on water right now, they are

When you look at the success that Jim Tressel had here, you look at the record, the rivalry game, the national championship game, it speaks for itself

We all felt that [Clarett] being the bell ringer on the day that coach Tressel was recognized was the right thing to do

In this game right here, what the first thing you want to do is you want to play clean

Great teams don’t beat themselves

It’s something that we talk about as coaches, but at the end of the day, you can’t get too cute with that

There’s certain things you want to save, and there’s certain things that as the season goes on you want to keep in your back pocket, but good teams have tendencies and we’ve got to identify our identity

Do I like anything about it? Absolutely not

Our depth again at wide receiver is way better than it was last year, in my opinion

If the speed limit’s 45 miles per hour, and you drive 45 miles per hour, a lot of people are going to pass you by

You’re seeing [Hinzman], [Montgomery] and [Siereveld] inside, and then [Moore] and [Daniels] on the outside, and they’re working together right now and getting a lot of reps with the ones

[The] good news is we feel like we have more depth there probably than we’ve had in a long time

There’s a lot of guys you’ll see play this season.

Who gets on the field on special teams is critical

In my opinion, the conferences have to decide if there’s a point where their rosters have to be locked in because once some of these guys become available, adding them to the roster is going to provide advantage for certain teams

If there are teams that have some players out there who are cut from NFL rosters that are going to be on other teams, we have to at least consider it and look at it

We said, ‘well, why don’t we just recognize all the seniors at the beginning of the year and let them know how much we appreciate everything they’ve done

[The seniors] were all nodding quickly and said, ‘Yeah, I think that’s a great idea,’

We think it’s going to allow us [an] opportunity to really kind of recognize them early in the season, and then to focus on games

If we’re going to get to where we need to go, we need a high level of play at that running back position

His reads and the way he’s hitting the hole has really shown up

If he continues to keep building and practicing and stacking these practices the way he’s doing it, it’s going to show up in a game and that’s going to be a big part of who we are this year

He is now a two-time captain who understands what it means to wear the scarlet and gray and the responsibility that comes with this program

It is a competition. We want guys to compete and a lot of guys have earned the right to do that

We need to find what that combination is going to be there

Well, I think we all wanna see how the offensive line shakes out here, that’s for sure

He had a tremendous offseason, one of the best in the whole building

He’s learning, but he’ll be back on the field soon

He had a mindset that he wanted to make an impact here

He’s a gentleman, high-character guy who does everything right

You almost become like the villain when you go into these environments

When you look at the schedule, you just get excited, you get fired up because you know that you have to be on your stuff week in and week out

We’re going to get stronger every single time we play in one of these games

In order to attack those times, you have to make decisions quickly

I think when you're chasing small margins like you are, you have to identify the things that need to get fixed and fix them
