When you practice a certain way, when you prep a certain way, when you have great players, it’s supposed to look like that… I want our guys to play that standard and play Kentucky football, and that was the main focus
He was one of the players from last year’s roster that we had to retain… another player from last year’s team, I had to keep
I’m not going to let weather or heat play a factor into why it might look a certain way, because ultimately, this is going to be the temperature for the first game
I mean, it’s TBD. You know as much as I do
That’s all on him. Like, I can’t guide him in any way
We have an entire department dedicated to personnel, to acquiring talent and evaluating talent
You just got to believe, man
Everything’s driven through social media . You got to have a presence on there, and not because it’s cute or fancy, but that’s where all the recruits are looking, and that’s ultimately what matters
This is going to sound like really… I think because of me, to be honest
I know the players that we can get here. I know we can recruit north, south and east
I am (Big Blue Nation). I grew up 18 years of my life as an absolute diehard Kentucky fan
I do consider myself as psychotic as Big Blue Nation, because I am one of them
I’m very excited about Kenny
I’m very impressed with (Minchey’s) football IQ, his intelligence, leadership, his poise
I’m very impressed with CJ, just from a mentality standpoint, what he’s brought to our offense, a veteran leadership, a guy that’s played at a really high level
Bo has crazy talent
This is going to sound like, really… I think of me, to be honest. Because of me
Is it gonna happen overnight? I don’t know
I think we can win here because of me.
If you’re scared, go to church, bro . Come on
I got emotional running out of the tunnel
I want to get dressed in our locker room over there, you know? Before the game
You never know who is in the stands. We are close (in proximity) to a lot of (programs)
Because, I mean, shoot, you can go on YouTube and look up spring football games around the country watch what spring ball look like on other schools. … That’s why we wanted to keep it really simple. The playbook was minimal on both offense and defense.
If there’s a current strength to our offense, it’s the offensive line
I think it took a lot of people by surprise
I’ve never called a play where I didn’t think we would score a touchdown
His real stature score, season by season, across every program he’s coached — so a stretch that stays in one tier the whole way can still climb or sink on the line, not just flatten out. Node color marks the tier reached. Which program a stretch belongs to is carried by the shaded lane behind it.
Reached National Program in his 1st career season — faster than 41% of the 675 FBS coaches who have ever reached National Program (rank #1 of 675 by seasons-to-arrival).
Where each stint’s offense sat between run-first and pass-first, and how far it moved from one season to the next. The band is that stint’s real season-to-season range, not a fixed-width box.
How he does in the games that matter most — rivalry record, performance broken out by real opponent tier, one-score games, and his toughest historical matchup.

6th-best Kentucky tenure of 16 by the numbers.
Followed Mark Stoops (2013–2025).
A portal-built roster.
Brings in bigger-than-position-typical players than most.
A typical class-year mix of incoming transfers.
4 NFL Draft picks: Jalen Farmer (2026), Jager Burton (2026), Kendrick Law (2026), Seth McGowan (2026)
Offensive coordinator across 2 programs, 3 stints, before and after wearing the head-coach hat — every season measured on the same axis, whether he personally ran the unit or someone else did.
