The discourse around Penn State this offseason has a nickname: the "Penn State Cyclones." Campbell didn't just take the job after Franklin's seventh-ranked team lost three straight and got upset by UCLA; he brought 24 Iowa State players with him, including his longtime starter, his coordinator and his receiver room. Becht is the anchor of it. "Last year, it wasn't player-led, and the culture wasn't consistently present," he told ESPN of Franklin's final season. "Right now, everyone is completely bought in." He says he got chills the first time he walked into Beaver Stadium.
What he carries is the most starting wins of any returning quarterback in college football (26) and a body that's still healing.
