Most Virginia Tech fans liked what they saw — but a real minority isn't convinced.
In leading UMass to upset victory over Rutgers something Drones failed to do 2x.
Just here to remind everyone Miami has never won the ACC

It might take Franklin more than a year to make the Hokies a contender, but with his history and Tech’s recent cash infusion to athletics, the days of going 3-9 feel over
The floor is much higher than it was for last year's 3-9 team, but the Hokies aren't quite talented enough yet to reach the ACC's upper quadrant

Hawkins was actually incredible last season, which is why we were so good at after contact stats. Hawkins and Overton is a genuinely great 1-2 punch.

I have no doubt that the Hokies' quarterback situation is better than last year and will lead to better results. How much better isn't a known quantity yet.
It depends on what exactly you're buying. If you're expecting the performance to be better than last year, then yes, buy in. However, I do think that there's a ceiling to what presumptive starter Ethan Grunkemeyer can do — especially given the second half of the season, where Virginia Tech will make trips to Clemson, SMU and Miami.

Franklin needed to flush as much of the 3-9 2025 season as he could. Again, there was some retention of key players, including running backs Marcellous Hawkins and Jeffrey Overton, Jr.

Fire Brent Pry and then tar and hokie feather Whit Babcock (AD) for systematically destroying Virginia Tech athletics and their competitiveness since his hire in 2014.

drones was straight doodoo, it seems like he left like 30 points off the board with the dumb pick, overthrowing people that were wide open, and that last drive where he somehow missed wide open receivers on four plays in a row
