The WIAC is the University of Wisconsin system at the DIII level — UW-Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout, UW-River Falls, UW-Eau Claire — all competing within one of DIII football's most physical conferences. UW-La Crosse: The Dark Horse

UW-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin has won WIAC titles and appeared in the DIII bracket multiple times without earning the national attention that Whitewater and Oshkosh get. Their program draws from western Wisconsin and the Mississippi River corridor, competing with a style built on their offensive system's efficiency rather than physical dominance. In a year when both Whitewater and Oshkosh struggle, La Crosse is the most likely WIAC champion.
