How fan mood is read

Fan mood compares what Florida fans wrote in r/CFB game threads with every FBS fanbase with enough talk that week. A week runs Monday to Sunday and is named for the game in it. The read is redrawn 300 times from the same commenters, re-ranking every fanbase each time. Sour or all in means the read sat in the bottom or top fifth in at least 70 of every 100 draws; on the sour side or on the bright side, in the bottom or top two fifths in at least 80; anything less settled is middle of the pack. A bright label also needs more positive talk than negative, and a sour one the reverse. Brighter or sourer than usual compares the week with the team's own earlier weeks, after taking out how every fanbase read that week. Each dot sits at the read's rank that week. A week read before these labels keeps the word it was first given, the fifth it sat in (sour, uneasy, mixed, hopeful or all in). Season averages are the mean of a season's reads, in fifths from sour to all in, and seasons before 2026 were read from each week's wider talk, so a comparison across seasons is rough. 2019 and 2020 were read later, in one pass, from saved talk.

fans believe Jon Sumrall will quickly restore Florida football to national prominence

Fired the bum 3 years too late but sumrall has looked the part so far. Crushing overmatched competition and look confident

I trust Coach Jon Sumrall and his staff will get us back to winning and winning BIG.

fans believe the team needs to rest narratives and focus on key improvements

Time to put this “the worst oline ever” and “it’s always their fault” and “Baugh is a scam” narrative to rest.

We need that now. We can't know how good/bad our defense is when they don't even know where the hell they're supposed to be or what to do...

One fan believes Philo struggles to see open teammates

Philo clearly has no touch on the ball for the intermediate passes and clearly doesn’t have any vision because he constantly misses wide open WRs

Florida has the better current rushing attack, run defense, pass rush, turnover profile, return threat, injury situation and home-field advantage where they won't back down.

One fan believes Chambliss is a dominant quarterback who will be difficult for Florida to stop

Chambliss may very well be the best QB in the country but I believe {Florida} wins on the back of Baugh and the talented group of receivers in an big scoring game.

One fan believes referees make inconsistent calls in key moments

This is what pisses me the fuck off when refs decide to be extremely trigger happy with flags and then suddenly stop throwing them. There's no damn consistency from drive to drive.
