How to read this

Each column is a quarter. Blue and up is a good stretch for the quarterback, red and down a bad one, hatched means the game was already decided. A red cross is a turnover and a black dot a touchdown. The word on the right grades the whole game. A gold line means the r/CFB game thread kept naming the quarterback. Dashed outlines on the Season row are last season’s average. Tap a game to open its plays: each bar is one of the quarterback’s plays, up helped the team’s chance of winning and down hurt it, and the grey line is that chance.

The word grades the game against every FBS quarterback start, from Rough to Great, using the same throws as the season Zeitgeist Passer Rating and adjusting for the defense faced. Bars are points added per throw in that quarter. The Season row leaves out quarters after a game was decided.

The story

As of

Read that again: the highest-ranked recruit Nebraska ever signed — son of a 14-year NFL center, the face of Matt Rhule's rebuild — walked away from 22 career starts, and has now played in five of Oregon's seven games. The exits weren't only his: his uncle was let go from Nebraska's staff and his brother decommitted, so the family's Lincoln chapter closed all at once.

Dante Moore's surprise return turned the Oregon move into the same kind of apprenticeship Moore once served behind Dillon Gabriel — a year to learn the system. Before the broken leg ended his Nebraska season, Raiola was completing 72%. The arm was never the question. The question is patience: whether a five-star raised to be The Guy can share a quarterback room — and whether the gamble reads as brilliant or premature when 2027 finally comes. He made his first Oregon start against UCLA on Oct 10: 6 of 19 for 43 yards with two interceptions and a lost fumble, and Brock Thomas played the fourth quarter of the 17-15 loss. Against Nebraska, the school he left, he came on for the fourth quarter and threw the winning 4-yard touchdown to Jamari Johnson with 28 seconds left. He started at Illinois on Oct 24: 27 of 41 for 246 yards in a 21-10 loss.
