The 2019 Memphis team went 12-2, won the AAC championship, and played in the Cotton Bowl. Mike Norvell built that team, then left for Florida State. Ryan Silverfield stepped up, went 50-25 over six years with back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2023 and 2024, then beat Arkansas and left for Arkansas.
